Stop Donating Your Salary. Start Reclaiming Your Relief.

Got questions about your missing 20%? We have the scout’s guide to navigating HMRC, backdating claims, and securing your windfall.

Why hasn't my pension company already claimed this for me?

Most UK pensions use a system called "Relief at Source." By law, your provider can only claim the basic rate of 20% because they don’t know your total annual income or your specific tax bracket. If you are a 40% or 45% taxpayer, HMRC expects you to tell them about your contributions to get the remaining 20% or 25% back. They won’t send it to you automatically.

Is this 100% legal? It sounds too good to be true.
